Have you ever wondered how they make tzatziki sauce at a greek restaurant? The sauce that makes meat taste even better? I asked the head chef at the greek restaurant I was at for the recipe and luckily, he gave me his recipe. I recreated here. Feel free to adjust the seasonings or add new flavors to experiment for yourself. What ever you do, this cool and calming, cold sauce will liven up any grilled meat or veggies you put it on.
1 1/2 cup plain yogurt or greek yogurt
1/2 large cucumber chopped into small cubes
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon dried dill or 1 tablespoon fresh dill
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
salt to taste
1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Let it sit for a few hours in fridge before serving.
